Agentic humans

We've heard of agentic AI and AI agents.

There's a difference. Agentic AI is autonomous. It makes its own decisions and acts like your proactive assistant.

An AI agent, however, automates something. It does exactly what you tell it to do, helping you with repetitive tasks like filling out forms.

Perhaps we need agentic humans, too.

I've talked a bit about the dangers of outsourcing your thinking to AI. Perhaps the cure to that is more agentic humans – those who exert agency over what technology can and should do for them.
