Apex of evolution
It just occurred to me that I may be at the pinnacle of my evolution.
For billions of years, living organisms have evolved to produce me. My ancestors, even the one-celled organisms that preceded them, survived ice ages, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, floods, wars, mass extinctions, and cataclysmic events. Now, here I am.
But still, can I be better? Can we all be better? Perhaps biological evolution brought us here, but personal evolution is still ongoing. Each of us may have new peaks to discover. We can be better humans, better spouses, better members of society, better at what we do – but only if we realize that we are exactly where we should be right now.
The best version of us does not exist yet. Our future self is waiting for our next step.
